Travel Directions: From I-64 - Take US 41 South approximately 17 miles to the Lloyd Expressway Exit. Take the exit and turn to the right. 10- 12 Months Before Make sure you have introduced your families. Decide on a realistic wedding budget. Set a tentative date. Buy a folder or organizer to keep all the wedding planning things in. Choose your wedding party. Book your ceremony location. Book your reception site. Start thinking about honeymoon destinations. Start looking at wedding dress photos for ideas. 6 - 9 Months Before Send a save the date card or email to out of town guests. Buy your wedding dress, shoes, and veil! Find your florist. Make sure to take in any ideas you have. Decide on a caterer and/or make menu decisions for your reception. Book a wedding photographer / videographer. Book your reception dj / band AND your ceremony musicians. Choose and order bridesmaid dresses. Meet with your ceremony officiant and discuss your ceremony. Choose several hotels with varying price points for out of town guests. Dunn Hospitality Decide which stores you want to register at and then go shopping. 4 - 5 Months Before Choose your wedding invitations and wording for them. Decide on a wedding cake baker and style of cake and go for a tasting. Purchase wedding bands. Choose what the groom and groomsmen will wear. Decide if you are going to purchase wedding favors. Finalize dates for any wedding showers. Choose your rehearsal dinner location and menu. 2 - 3 Months Before Finalize your guest list and start working on addressing invitations. Book salon appointments for you and your wedding party. Purchase wedding favors and bridal party gifts. Double check that men’s tuxes have been ordered. Reserve wedding transportation. Finalize honeymoon plans. Work on joint bank accounts, insurance, etc. Select ceremony music and song list for your reception. Mail wedding invitations 8 weeks before your wedding. 1 - 2 Months Before Have your first bridal gown fitting. Don’t forget your bra and shoes that you’ll wear the big day. Research getting your marriage license. Make a list of what photos you’d like your photographer to take. Finalize ceremony details. 3 - 4 Weeks Before Figure out your something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Finalize your reception song list. Include songs you DON’T want played. Create and order your wedding program. Confirm honeymoon plans. Mail rehearsal dinner invitations. Have a hair and make up practice session with your stylist. Get your marriage license. 1 – 2 Weeks Before Have your final dress fitting. Confirm EVERYTHING: reception details, ceremony logistics, appointments, flowers, transportation, photographer, dj, etc. Create a written schedule for the weekend and get it to everyone. Confirm your final headcount. Put together an “emergency kit” for your wedding day filled with just in case items. Finalize seating arrangements for the reception and create place cards, if needed. The Day Before Prepare separate, clearly marked envelopes with payments due to vendors and then assign a responsible friend or family member to distribute. Have a wedding rehearsal with officiant and wedding party. Delegate as much as you can to your bridal party. THE BIG DAY! Eat something! It’s going to be a long day. Try to relax. Don’t sweat the small stuff. After the Wedding Take your wedding gown to be cleaned and preserved. Write and mail thank you notes. Enjoy being married!
